Call for Endorsement to and Participation in
the November 4 National Workers' All-Out Rally in Tokyo
The society is rapidly changing. On July 16, nearly 200,000 workers and
people participated in an anti-nuke rally in Yoyogi Park
and marched through down town Tokyo. Every Friday, one or two hundred
thousand protesters gather and surround the Parliament
building and the Prime Minister's Office chanting, "Stop Restart!"
"Overthrow PM Noda!"
It is an expression of the profound rage of people against the very foundation
of this corrupt social system. Exposed to radioactive
fallout daily and hourly, mothers in Fukushima feel, "Our kids are
being killed." This anger is shared by a large number of young
workers who find themselves pitted each other and deprived of means of
unity, labor unions by neoliberal offensives. Together with
these angry people, we must organize half million or even one million
people into a huge struggle.
To establish a nuclear-free society, we have to create militant labor
unions ready to wage strike against nuclear power and
unemployment. Revive militant labor unions that fight against neoliberalism!
Neoliberal offensive means deregulation, privatization of public services
and greedy pursuit of profit for a tiny group-big capitaland
devastation of the lives of working people and endless pauperization.
To carry out these policies, neoliberalism resorts to brutal
practice of state violence: coup d'etat, crack down with physical violence,
punishment of workers, unfair labor practice and downright
union busting.
During the three decades after the division and privatization of National
Railways in 1980s as the first step of neoliberalism in Japan,
every aspect of the society has been ruined and every promise made by
big capital and the government has been revealed to be an
utter lie. The most devastating example is shown by Fukushima nuclear
catastrophe: the government declared at the end of 2011,
"Fukushima nuclear reactors are under control in cold shutdown"
and restarted Oi nuclear power plant last May. The recent bus
accident on Kanetsu Expressway as well as Amagasaki railway accident in
2005 was results of the deregulation of transportation
industry. In the meantime, 20 million workers have been reduced to casual
workers; as a result especially young workers are now
deprived of their future. Medium, small and micro enterprises have been
victimized by profiteering of monopoly capital and forced to
go bankruptcy, to make mass firing and to suffer from consumer tax hike.
How can we effectively fight back against these neoliberal assaults? Our
focus must be on organizing more powerful Nationwide
Movement of National Railway Struggle all across the country. The aim
of this movement is to fundamentally oppose the Division
and Privatization of National Railway, the initial offensive of neo-liberalism
in Japan, and to fight for reinstatement of 1,047 dismissed
national railway workers.
Doro-Chiba is now fighting against full outsourcing plan of inspection
& repair jobs and disguised contract labor in JR East Company
and for abolition of irregular employment system. This is the decisive
battle against the business circle's scheme in which they openly
declare 90 % of workforce should be casualized.
On June 29, the Tokyo District Court outrageously denied reinstatement
of the Doro-Chiba members fired during the privatization
process, although the court admitted that the JNR had committed an unfair
labor practice by unduly deleting the names of the
plaintiffs from the list of reemployment (by the privatized JR companies).
Organize petition campaign for the reinstatement and win a
victory at the Tokyo High Court!
Revive labor unions, fighting back in workplaces against neoliberal assaults:
reactionary reorganization of local government system
and union busting by Osaka mayor Hashimoto and the governmental plan of
"special zones for reconstruction" (in the earthquake and
tsunami stricken areas) and neoliberal assaults on municipalities, education,
postal service and health care.
Learn the lessons of labor movement of Kan-Nama that organizes a broad
coalition of labor unions and medium and small enterprises
in ready mixed concrete industry under hegemony of Kan-Nama and fight
against monopoly capital's neoliberal assaults and organize
labor movements after the exemplary struggle of Kan-Nama around the country!
Minato-Godo experiences in organizing workers of
Osaka area across walls of individual enterprises also help all workers
around the country to fight against neoliberalism that has been
devastating communities. Take back communities by the power of labor unions!
Strengthen general unions!
Workers in Europe and around the world are launching general strikes and
taking to the streets under current Great Depression.
Workers of the world, unite and fight against neoliberalism!
Fight against military bases in Okinawa! Fight together with farmers who
fight against Narita Airport! Stop Trans-Pacific Partnership!
Stop constitutional revision!
Organize international coordinated action on November 4 against nuclear
power and unemployment!
Bring all of your struggles to Hibiya Open-air Stage on November 4.
Please endorse the November 4 Rally.
